After speaking with Bart this morning we both feel Tamra's time here with us is short. During the night about 4am mom woke up and wanted to sit up for a while. She seems to feel a little better in that position for some reason. She was up for some time but has become more and more unresponsive as the days go on. Bart just talked as mom just listened. At some point Jack came to say hello to Tamra and sat with them both.

After this she went back to sleep until the CNA came this morning. From what i understand is they gave her a sponge bath and sat her up for her medication. She is now really unable to even suck water through a straw because she is so weak from the lack of food. They tried to deliver her some water to her with a sponge with little results. They had to give her the anti-anxiety medication by liquid form because she has such a hard time swallowing.

She slept into mid afternoon when the nurse came by to check on her. She checked her IV line and it seems to still be stable. Tamra sat up for a while and then tried to communicate with the nurse about her pain scale. At this point it's hard to gather what she is feeling since she can hardly speak. We did get the idea that she might be experiencing a little more pain so the nurse Julie called Tamra's doctor to see if they could increase her Morphine so as to keep her out of pain. The office said they would call back so Julie left and would come back when they called her back.

About an hour later Julie came back to increase moms medication and while here we asked her if she had noticed moms breathing pattern had changed and she agreed that they had and she seemed to struggle more for each breath. Julie then told us that this is a sign that she may be close leaving us. She even told us it may be within 24 hours. Of course nobody can predict these things but having worked in hospice for a while I'm sure she has a good idea.

Mom wants to sit up now so i must go.
